CHILDREN’S TIME
WE OFFER OURSELVES TO GOD
PRAYER OF HEALING
O Holy One, who wondrously calls us into ways of being for life,
we admit to You and those around us, that at times it all seems too hard;
when we see little fruit for our labours, receive ingratitude for honest endeavours,
when we feel self-belittlement after daring to share a still hidden or developing gift.
Forgive us, not just for a lack of belief in You, but a lack of belief in who we are.
Pardon our negative conclusions and false humilities that hide us away,
unable to hear Your call for creative love and justice.
Self-giving God,
restore in us the undying courage of Christ and the enabling presence of the Holy Spirit.
We ask your healing now, for times we have lived in places of deep darkness,
unable to see your guiding light.
(A moment of reflection/prayer)
WORDS OF GRACE AND COMFORT
Before you were born, you were named with love and grace.
God listens to each honest prayer offered. You are forgiven. You are loved.
We dare to grow into this affirmation of light and love, following as we are called.
Thanks be to God for these comforting gifts. Amen.

The gift of music will be loud and strong in Sunday School. Special thanks to Rheanne Thackeray-Sheppard for leading the kids in a wonderful lesson of kindness through music. Don’t be surprised if you hear this song to the tune of My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean as the children come up from downstairs today.

SUPER SUNDAY IS COMING! | JANUARY 29 | 10:00 A.M
SALAD SMORG LUNCH TO FOLLOW CHURCH
Now that lettuce isn’t $8.00 a head, the planning team for Super Sunday thought it might be nice to leave the rich food of Christmas behind and have a health-filled lunch menu for Super Sunday.
Do you have a favourite salad you make for your family or friends? Would you be willing to prepare it for the Super Sunday at the end of the month? Please indicate on the friendship form in the pew, email or call the office and let the team know what you might prepare, so we don’t end up with 10 bowls of Caesar Salad. Also, let’s try to stay away from peanuts.
If salad, isn’t your culinary talent, maybe you might cut up a plate of raw veggies/fruit or prepare some squares or cookies to share. Everything offered will be greatly appreciated!
Miss Lori, Miss Jenell and Miss Jo along with the 3-year old’s will be sharing for us during worship. Downstairs, Lana will be sharing a beautiful story with a craft which fits wonderfully into the Beatitudes unit.
As beloved children of God, all are included in the life and ministry of the Grace Family
where diversity is celebrated.
Grace remembers, as we celebrate God’s presence in worship,
that Grace United Church gathers on Treaty 6 land,
the traditional territory of the Plains, Wood Cree, Assiniboine and Métis peoples.
As Treaty people,
we seek to live with respect on this land and live in peace and friendship with all our relations.
