PRAYER OF HEALING

Holy God,

when we turn away from those who are vulnerable, to bow to the mighty,

when our words or actions bring havoc instead of wholeness,

when those who are hungry are left wanting and strangers shut out,

forgive and renew us to act in love.

Lead us from our pride back to your reign of hope and love,

until we live in right relationship with you and with each other.

(Silent prayer/reflection)

WORDS OF GRACE AND COMFORT

The reign of goodness begins with grace.

Grace helps us let go of past hurts and take up the work of reconciliation.

In the name of the Good Shepherd, we claim comfort and new beginnings.

Thanks be to God.

THE SCRIPTURES SPEAK TO US

THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW 25:31-46 – When you helped the least of these you helped me.

In this is God’s hope for the world.   Thanks be to God.
