 WE OFFER OURSELVES TO GOD

PRAYER OF HEALING

You would have all people hear of your grace, servant God,

but we hinder your efforts by hoarding the word for ourselves.

You would have hope flow through our neighbourhoods,

but we thwart your plans by damming up hope in our hearts.

You would have us skip into your realm,

but we frustrate your future by clinging so tightly to grudges we have carried for so long.

Shaker of our wildernesses, unlock the shuttered doors of our hearts.

Remind us that at our baptism you touch us with the waters of life and

promise to be with us always.

You call us your beloved,

even as you sang your joy to Jesus the Christ, at the waters of the Jordan.

Hear our prayers now God,

helping us to rediscover the newness of life you offer through cleansed hearts and thoughts.

 (A moment of reflection/prayer)

WORDS OF GRACE AND COMFORT

You know the good news God has proclaimed to you:

we are called to let go of the past, and to walk, hand in hand with the Spirit,

into the reign of God on earth.

God yearns to hear and refresh us.

God sends us to do good things,

through the grace of the One who baptizes in the water and the Spirit.

Thanks be to God for this comfort offered. Amen.

SASKATCHEWAN AGRICULTURAL HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCES 2023 INDUCTEES

Congratulations to Dorothy and her family on this affirmation of service and support within Saskatchewan Agriculture.

The Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame is proud to announce five exceptional individuals who will be inducted into the hall later this spring. Making up the list of inductees for 2023 are Bill Huber, Kevin Hursh, Dorothy Long, John McKinnon, and Laurie Tollefson.

“The 2023 inductees highlight the depth and commitment people have in improving and promoting Saskatchewan agriculture,” said Reed Andrew, president of the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame.

The inductees will be formally inducted into the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Saskatoon on Saturday, April 15, 2023. A brief overview of the accomplishments:

Dorothy Long uses her background in home economics to advance consumer knowledge by teaching about society’s connection to food and farming. Her passion for agriculture led her to being instrumental in organizing and guiding farm tours for dietitians, journalists, and food writers with the goal of connecting rural and urban residents.

SUPER SUNDAY IS COMING! | JANUARY 29 | 10:00 A.M

SALAD SMORG LUNCH TO FOLLOW CHURCH

Now that lettuce isn’t $8.00 a head, the planning team for Super Sunday thought it might be nice to leave the rich food of Christmas behind and have a health-filled lunch menu for Super Sunday.

Do you have a favourite salad you make for your family or friends?  Would you be willing to prepare it for the Super Sunday at the end of the month?  Please indicate on the friendship form in the pew, email or call the office and let the team know what you might prepare, so we don’t end up with 10 bowls of Caesar Salad. Also, let’s try to stay away from peanuts.

If salad, isn’t your culinary talent, maybe you might cut up a plate of raw veggies/fruit or prepare some squares or cookies to share. Everything offered will be greatly appreciated!

 K LAKE/DAVIDSON UCW MEETING│JANUARY 16TH │GUC

THE CHRISTIAN DEVELOPMENT TEAM

We are ready for another powerful rotational unit.  This time the kids are learning about the Beatitudes!  The Beatitudes are a set of teachings found in the Sermon on the Mount, which is a passage in the Gospel of Matthew.  Blessed are… describe the qualities and virtues that are pleasing to God and lead to a happy and fulfilled life.  The Sunday School Children are going to be learning a lot about humility, patience, forgiveness, peace and love.  By learning more about GOD, they will be encouraged to strive for these virtues in their own lives

As Treaty people,
