WE OFFER OURSELVES TO GOD
PRAYER OF HEALING
Almighty God, we are not always people who live by faith.
We know we were created in your image,
yet we treat ourselves and each other in ways that do not honour your presence within.
Your laws and commandments teach us to live in ways that help our neighbours.
We choose otherwise and live in ways that harm our neighbours, rather than help.
We hear your call to reach out to those most in need.
Instead, we turn our backs on them and you.
We pray now, O God, help us day by day to run life’s race placed before us.
Help us to persevere, guided through prayer which we offer you now…
(silent prayers, meditation)
WORDS OF GRACE AND COMFORT
What is hoped and prayed for is true.
Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of faith brings grace and renewal to our hearts.
Thanks be to God. Amen

STEWARDSHIP SECONDS
Caring for the financial health of your community of faith is not a sprint to be accomplished with one worship or one campaign. It is a marathon that is only accomplished over time by developing relationships, expressing gratitude, and teaching generosity as a spiritual practice.
ACTIVITY MORNINGS
Can you believe we are entering the last week of Activity mornings? Over the summer we have had over 60 children registered!!! Where has summer gone? Last week was full of wonderful lessons on the importance of spending time together, celebrating friendship even though we are all different, and the importance of getting off the couch and enjoying the outdoors! This week will be much the same with over 15 kids coming through the doors! YAY GOD. Here is the link to register: https://form.jotform.com/221573464209254

GETTING TO KNOW OUR SUMMER STUDENTS BETTER…
This week’s question … In my spare time I like to…
Kathleen – spend time with family and friends
Ashley – be outside
Brenden – hang out with friends, play baseball and watch movies
Jonathan – play the piano and make YouTube videos for my channel
As beloved children of God, all are included in the life and ministry of the Grace Family where diversity is celebrated. We remember, as we celebrate God’s presence in Worship, that Grace United Church gathers on Treaty 6 land, the traditional territory of the Plains, Wood Cree, and Assiniboine peoples. As Treaty people, we seek to live with respect on this land and live in peace and friendship with all our relations.

CONNECTING COMMUNITY
LOOKING for Storytellers- Do you defy a stereotype? Have you overcome a hardship? Do you have a story you think would help others? If so, we are looking for more people to become storytellers in the "My Life is an Open Book" series. Contact Lana if this is something that interests you. If you are willing to be a storyteller, you are expected to give some thought and write out your story before sharing infront of the group. On a Connecting Community scheduled day, you will share your story live in front of a 4-5 people audience for 40-45 minutes with follow-up questions and comments. The goal of this Connecting Community series is to challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. When we learn more about each other, the gateway to the heart opens a little wider.

INSTALLATION OF THE 44th MODERATOR OF THE UNITED CHURCH
In a service brimming with joy, the Right Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne, Kwisa’lakw was installed as the 44th Moderator of the United Church of Canada. Held on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, the service was lifestreamed across the country with over 500 people watching.
Chief Dr. Robert Joseph began a tender chorus of “How Great Thou Art” which brought the congregation to its feet, joining him in song. Moderator Lansdowne led the procession from the church accompanied in Heiltsuk song and drum. For more information here is the link to the remainder of the article:

YOUTH CONFIRMATION l Beginning this Fall l Grade 10 & beyond.
What is confirmation?
The continuation of Christian growth which began at baptism.
In confirmation, we remember our Baptism, renew our covenant (promises) that our
parents made for us when we were baptized.
Confirmation is not only an opportunity for us to “confirm” our commitment to God and
the Church, it is
- an opportunity to continue to learn and grow in faith, your understanding of God,
Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
- a time to look into the Bible and talk about how it is relevant in today’s world.
- an opportunity to develop some tools that will help you come closer to God.
- a time to learn about the gifts God has given you and how you will use them in
the world to serve another.
- learning about worship, social justice and service.
- a way to get to know more people in the church and community.
- experimentation, friendship in action, a safe place to make mis-takes.
- a committed time for the church community and God to publicly and visibly
“confirm” their commitment to you, as a part of the whole people of God.
Please speak to Rev. Cathy if you are interested in being a part of youth
confirmation.
We will meet once a week from Mid-September to mid-November. This will include an
overnight retreat at the church. Time and dates will be determined by everyone’s schedules.
NEW FAMILY TO LLOYDMINSTER FROM THE UKRAINE
One of Grace’s congregational members has a new family living across the street.
The family has arrived with little from war-torn Ukraine. Would you have any extra basic
household items you might be willing to share? Housewares, towels, sheets, pots,
furniture – all would be most appreciated. There are also two daughters’ early school
age. Father has found employment here in Lloydminster. Please speak to Rosemarie
Grant if you could help out.
